Two Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAV) collided during a training exercise in the morning and four men were sent to the Melbourne hospitals, the report quoted an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman as saying.

The remaining six people received treatments at the Puckapunyal base. However, three of the four men sent to hospitals by air and road were seriously hurt in the accident.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) said in a statement that the reason of the crash was yet to be determined, and it's not appropriate for the ADF to make comments over it as well as the injuries of the soldiers since the ADF and police were investigating what exactly happened.

The ASLAV is a highly mobile, eight wheeled amphibious armoured vehicle used for reconnaissance and surveillance missions in the Australian military, which has seen operational service with the Australian army in Iraq and Afghanistan in the past decade.
