Director General of Police (DIG) Suryanarayan confirmed here on Thursday that the collision between Nanded- Hyderabad Express and a school bus at an unmanned crossing of Telanganas' Medak district earlier today claimed 13 lives including 12 children and one driver.
"In this tragic accident total 12 school students have died along with the driver also. We are investigating the cause of accident. As of now 16 are injured and all of them have been shifted to the hospital," said Suryanarayan.
Earlier today, a school bus had collided with a train near Masaipet village in Telangana's Medak District.
The incident occurred at an unmanned railway crossing near the village.
