Construction crews are working around the clock while struggling to meet the deadline to turn the Adelaide Oval building site into an Ashes-ready cricket stadium.
According to News.com.au, building contractors are handing over sections of the unfinished stand to the Stadium Management Authority as they are completed.
Adding to concerns, the Oval surface is expected to obtain a 7/10 rating from officials due to unexpected undulations across the arena, which will host an Ashes blockbuster from December 5, the report said.
A makeshift Oval bridge will be opened for the Ashes clash then closed again until the March 29 AFL Showdown between Port Adelaide and Adelaide, the report added.
Turf contractor StrathAyr is also facing questions over the condition of the Oval surface, which was supposed to be finished last month, the report further said.
