At least three people were killed and 10 others injured when a bomb went off outside a mosque in Pakistan's northwest Kohat district on Thursday afternoon, local Urdu media reported.

Local Urdu TV channel Dawn reported that the explosion happened at about 1:45 p.m. (local time) when people were coming outside a mosque after offering afternoon prayer at a mosque in Kacha Paka area, a village located some 25 km away from Kohat district in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Police said that the blast was triggered off by a remote controlled device and explosive materials were fixed at a motorbike parked outside the mosque's main gate.

The injured people have been shifted to District Hospital Kohat where at least three of them were reportedly in critical condition.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Police cordoned off the area and kicked off a search operation.
