36 Tamil fishermen released from Sri Lankan jail return back

Thirty-six Tamil fishermen, who were released from Sri Lankan jail, returned to Mandapam on Thursday night. The local fishermen and local fisheries authorities welcomed them.

After having talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York recently, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakshe ordered the release of 76 Tamil fishermen in Lankan jail.

Thirty more Tamil fishermen will be released soon and will be brought to Karaikal Port.
