5.5-magnitude quake hits Chile:USGS

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Coquimbo in Chile on Tuesday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake struck around 70 kilometers west south west of Chile's capital Santiago.

The epicenter, with a depth of 13.68 km, was initially determined to be at 30.1859 degrees south latitude and 72.0223 degrees west longitude. Enditem

Coquimbo is a port city, commune and capital of Chile's Elqui Province and is located on the Pan-American Highway.
