Stephen Collins, famously known for his role in the series '7th Heaven' has reportedly confessed to molesting underage girls on a recently leaked tape, which was recorded by estranged wife Faye Grant in 2012.
The New York Police Department has started conducting an active criminal investigation involving sexual contact with multiple children against the 67-year-old actor, TMZ.com reported.
The official stated that there were at least 3 victims and the nature of the investigation was "inappropriate sexual contact with minors."
Collins and Grant went to a therapist, after he admitted to his misdeeds to her in 2012, where she secretly recorded the sessions in which the actor gave away the specific details of the incidences.
