Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Captain Abhimanyu on Thursday said that the Aam Aadmi party (AAP) has resorted to performing a well scripted drama to be in the media space.

"After being rejected by the people in Lok sabha elections, they (AAP) have resorted to performing a well scripted drama to be in the media space. This is hilarious," said Abhimanyu.

"He (Arvind Kejriwal) is known for his antics and rhetoric. He is known for his disrespect for the constitution and judicial procedures. Only to come again in media glare he is subjecting to these kinds of rhetorics," he said.

"We would like to tell him to refrain from scandalous statements. If he wants to do serious politics, he should go down to streets and win confidence of people. Only then he would be able to earn credibility," he added.

Kejriwal was arrested yesterday after he refused to furnish a bail bond in connection with a criminal defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari.

The court had on February 28 summoned Kejriwal as an accused in the criminal defamation complaint observing that statements allegedly made by the AAP leader have the effect of "harming the reputation" of the complainant.

The summons was issued against Kejriwal on a complaint in which BJP leader Nitin Gadkari had alleged that he was defamed by Kejriwal, who had included his name in the party's list of "India's most corrupt".
