Adam Griffith has been named as the interim bowling coach of Australia for the upcoming tri-series in West Indies, which will also feature South Africa.
Cricket Australia are looking for a full time bowling coach following Craig McDermott's resignation from the post after the World Twenty20.
Jubilant with his inclusion, national coach Darren Lehmann insisted that Griffith had helped in developing many fast bowlers in Western Australia and that he hoped the latter would prove to be beneficial for the national side too.
"We are excited to have Adam join the team for the tour of the West Indies. Western Australia have some talented young fast-bowlers that have developed under Adam's watch and it's great to be able to offer him the chance to work with the Australian side under Justin Langer," Lehmann was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Expressing his excitement to work with Australia's premium bowlers, Griffith admitted that the other two teams consist of some really good destructive batters and that it would be a great challenge for him to prepare his players according to the Caribbean conditions.
Meanwhile, former Australia opening batsman Justin Langer will also step in place of Lehmann for the upcoming series in an attempt to provide the latter with some rest ahead of Sri Lanka tour in July.
The opening match of the tri-series will take place between Australia and South Africa, starting from June 6 in Guyana.
