Afghanistan's National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar has asked the former to act against the Taliban groups pursuing violence.
According to Atmar, Islamabad is supposed to start crackdown against the insurgent group in accordance with the commitments it made as part of the Quadrilateral Coordination Group, involving Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and United States.
Atmar added that the government's top priority was to defend the lives and properties of the Afghan people and not the peace process.
Following the remarks, Atmar held meeting with Sweden envoy, Peter Semneby.
Semneby reaffirmed support to Afghanistan's policies in maintaining peace and stability and peace talks with the anti-government armed militants, a statement released by the Office of National Security Adviser said.
Atmar's remarks comes in wake of the recent comment made by President Ashraf Ghani in which he said that Pakistan government should act responsibly in fight against terrorist groups and group's leaderships based in Peshawar and Quetta.
