Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday congratulated the mahagathbandhan for their landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly polls.
Yadav said that the verdict given by the people was a message to the entire country.
"The people will always vote for the party which stays in contact with them and work for their development," he said.
He also took the opportunity to highlight the work done by his government in Uttar Pradesh.
The mahagathbandhan won 178 seats in Bihar, a commanding two-third majority in the 243-member assembly. The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies had to settle for a mere 58 seats.
