Seven coaches of Amrapali Express travelling from Katihar to Amritsar derailed near Khagaria in early morning hours today.
There were no casualties were reported.
The coaches derailed included five sleeper coaches and two AC class coaches.
According to Railway spokesperson Anil Saxena, accident relief trains have reached the site.
"We are diverting certain trains from Katihar-Malda-Jamaldaha to Patna. Certain passenger trains have been cancelled," he added.
