Uttar Pradesh's BJP president Lakshmikant Bajpai today said that the detainment of BJP leaders in Moradabad will not affect the party in any way.
"The arrest of BJP leaders will not affect the working of party. It is a rule by the central and state governments that there will be no religious construction or changes in the structure without permission. They can put up their mics only after all the permissions are taken," said Laxmikant Bajpai.
Uttar Pradesh Police had detained Muzzafarnagar riots accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Sangeet Som along with other party leaders. The detained BJP leaders were on their way to hold a mahapanchayat in Moradabad to protest against the administration's decision to remove loudspeaker from a temple.
