Asia's first Ballistic Research Centre will soon be opened in Gujarat capital Gandhinagar.
The ballistic research centre will help India in achieving self-reliance in testing of armored vehicles, and will be functioning at the Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) in Gandhinagar.
GFSU's Director General J M Vyas said that the ballistic research centre will conduct tests for armored vehicles of the Indian Army and also provide services to private players who supply vehicles to the VIPs.
He added that the centre will adopt a method in which manufacturers can witness their armored vehicles being tested.
Till now, the armored vehicles from India are sent to countries like the UK, USA and France for testing.
