One sub-inspector of 15 Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was on Tuesday killed in an operation against the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) (S) insurgent group in the Manas Reserve Forest in Assam's Chirang district.
It was a joint operation of the SSB, local police and the Indian Army.
One INSAS rifle was recovered from the place of action.
Combing operation is still on.
