Bajaj launches Pulsar's fastest version at Rs 1.18 lakhs

New Delhi, Mar. 26 (ANI): Bajaj on Thursday launched its latest offering in the Pulsar segment, the Pulsar RS 200.

Pulsar RS 200 is priced at Rs 1.18 lakh for the non anti-lock brake system (ABS) variant and Rs 1.30 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom Maharashtra) for the one with ABS brakes.

Bajaj claims that this is the fastest Pulsar ever. The bike is powered by a four-valve, triple spark, DTSi 199cc engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. The bike can accelerate to a top speed of 141 kmph.

The engine delivers 24.5Ps of power and 18.6Nm of torque.

The RS 200 includes a service due indicator, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, monoshock rear suspension among other features. To keep the bike in control, there is a 300mm disc at the front coupled with ABS.

This bike is aimed at bikers, who are interested in sports bikes and shall be competing with the Yamaha R15 and the Honda CBR 150R, which are priced in the range of Rs 1.19 to Rs 1.23 lakhs.

"The sports segment in India is poised for rapid growth, driven by evolving customer preferences. There are consumers who expect true-track performance from their bikes. The new Pulsar RS 200 enters the Super Sports segment with aerodynamically tested fairings, superior chassis and engine technology to deliver adrenaline pumping performance, be it on tracks or real roads," said Eric Vas, President - Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd.

The company, which plans to sell 2500 units of the Pulsar RS 200 per month, intends to start exporting as well.
