After the unruly and shameful crowd behaviour at Cuttack during the second T20 international between India and South Africa, the Kanpur Police has barred fans from carrying water bottles and cold drinks to the Green Park Stadium, which will be hosting the opening ODI on October 11.
Confirming the news, SSP Shalabh Mathur said the state administration official has also decided to put up a 10-feet net in front of the stands so that a similar incident wouldn't repeat.
Earlier on Monday, fans vented their anger and went on to hurl plastic bottles onto the ground after India were bundled out for their second lowest T20 score of 92 at the Barabati Stadium.
South Africa went on to win the match comfortably to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Faf du Plessis's side had won the first match by seven wickets at Dharamsala.
