New game 'Bananagrams' has beat old family favourites like Scrabble to become the most popular game on Amazon.co.uk ever, it has been revealed.
The game that requires the players to build a crossword against the clock, has been successful in building a global fan base since its debut at a toy fair in 2006, Metro.co.uk reported.
Abraham Nathanson invented the game in the US, after he was frustrated at the slow pace when playing Scrabble.
A spokesman for Amazon said that it is remarkable that 'Bananagrams' has been able to outsell traditional games like Scrabble and Monopoly.
The second most popular game is the Original Rubik's Cube, which is continues to go strong after 30 years, followed by a simple memory game called Shopping List.
