Engineer Rashid, an independent legislator who was thrashed by the BJP MLAs inside the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly yesterday, staged a protest along with his supporters here on Friday.
The protestors led by Rashid raised slogans against the ruling BJP-PDP Government to vent their ire over yesterday's incident.
The police personnel later arrested some of the protestors to bring the situation under control.
The BJP MLAs had yesterday thrashed Rashid for organising a beef party at the lawns of government circuit house.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his predecessor National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had condemned the incident.
