Eminent Marathi litterateur Bhalchandra Nemade has been selected for the prestigious Jnanpith award.
He will be the 50th recipient of this award.
Nemade occupies a unique place in Marathi literature and his hugely celebrated works include novels Kosala and Hindu.
He has earlier been conferred with the Padma Shri and Sahitya Akademi Award.
