An NYC image consultant, who has worked with many celebrities, politicians and high-profile business people, has claimed that most western workers have no idea how to dress "effectively" for work.
William Cane, the founder of 'Manhattan Makeovers', has jotted down some of the goof-ups than could be easily avoided at your workplace, News.com.au reported.
Cane said that women should avoid wearing shoes that are too bright for their outfits, as a shade or two darker is more effective.
He asserted that men should take care of their messy hair and scruffy shoes, while skipping on wearing inappropriate ties, like polka dots or gaudy flowers, to work.
Blondes wearing high-contrast outfits like a black skirt and a white blouse can easily enhance their image with a monochromatic outfit, especially one that's light in colour, such as beige, ivory or tan, he insisted.
Cane said that women should not think about wearing pants or even perfume to work, as it diminishes their effectiveness.
