Bill Murray has revealed that he took the part of being the voice of Garfield by mistake.

The 63-year-old American actor and comedian said that he had mistakenly thought that it was penned by famed film scribe Joel Coen and not Joel Cohen, the New York Post reported.

During a Reddit chat with fans, Murray admitted that he didn't bother to read the hit comedy's full script because he thought it was written by Coen and not Cohen.

He also denied that there would be a third installment of the comic-strip-inspired film.
