Birthday wishes poured in for former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif from across the cricketing fraternity as the right-hander turns 38 today.
From the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to the most destructive batsmen of all time, Virender Sehwag, a number of people took to Twitter to extend good wishes to Kaif on his special day.
"Here's wishing @MohammadKaif a very happy birthday. Have a great year ahead," the BCCI tweeted.
Posting a picture with Kaif, Sehwag wrote, "May you follow your dreams. Wish you health, happiness, high jumps and diving around with your children @MohammadKaif . #HappyBirthdayMohammadKaif."
" May beauty and happiness always surround you. Wish you a very happy Birthday @MohammadKaif !" cricketing stalwart VVS Laxman tweeted.
The Delhi Daredevils (DD), which represents the national capital in the Indian Premier League (IPL), also wished its "newest addition" of the team.
" Here's wishing the newest addition to the family, our Assistant Coach @MohammadKaif, a very Happy Birthday," Delhi Daredevils' official handle wrote.
Kaif led the Indian team to victory in the U-19 World Cup in 2000. He became one of the best fielders India ever produced.
During the 2002 NatWest series in England, Kaif hit the high notes, culminating in a magnificent unbeaten 87 runs as India successfully chased 326 runs to emerge victorious in the final. He also hit a superb 111 (not out) against Zimbabwe in the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy.
