The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday termed the issue of full statehood to Delhi as 'sensitive', adding the party will look into the matter when it comes to power.
"The issue [Delhi statehood] is sensitive and serious. For any issue, one has to go for micro-detailing and the nitty-gritty of the issue needs to be looked into. When the BJP comes to power, we will look into it," BJP Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay told ANI.
Earlier in the day, the BJP unveiled its 'vision document' for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls, promising to make Delhi a 'world class' city and to resolve pending problems of water, electricity and transportation.
"The vision document will help make Delhi a world class city by all standards. This documents covers over 270 points and will focus on the following urgent matters: women's safety and security, youth affairs, electricity and water, cleanliness, education and skill development and environment," said the party's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi.
However, the 270-point vision document did not get space about the party's position on full statehood to Delhi, which it had earlier promised in its manifestos for the 2013 assembly polls.
