The Bombay High Court on Friday dismissed a petition filed by Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam challenging the election of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gopal Shetty from Mumbai North constituency in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The order was pronounced by Justice Mridula Bhatkar.
Nirupam had alleged that Shetty deliberately did not disclose details of a property owned by him in Boriwali in his election affidavit.
During the hearing, Shetty's counsel said that the property is not owned by his client anymore and it was sold out in the year 2010 itself.
