The Bombay High Court will hear Bollywood actor Salman Khan's appeal against his conviction in the 2002 hit-and-run case and his plea for bail on Friday.

Advocate Amit Desai will appear for Salman's bail application in the court. Salman himself, however, is not expected to appear.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened outside the actor's Galaxy Apartments residence in the Bandra area of Mumbai.
