Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea advanced to the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters after securing a straight-sets win in their men's doubles event on Thursday.
The Indo-Romanian pair broke serve four times and fired four aces to secure a 7-5, 7-5 win over Swedish-Austrian pair of Robert Lindstedt and Alexander Peya in a contest that lasted one hour and 22 minutes.
With the win, the sixth-seeded pair will next face fourth-seeded Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares for the semi-final berth.
