On the occasion of Diwali, the Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated the festival at India-Bangladesh border by lighting candles and sharing of sweets in West Bengal's Siliguri.

Meanwhile, sweets were also shared by Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) with Chinese troops at Nathu La Pass during the day.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrated Diwali with army and Border Security Force troops in the Gurez Valley and said that the One Rank One Pension Scheme will be rolled out in stages.

Prime Minister Modi, who is known for spending this day with different sections of the armed forces each year, said he considered them his 'family'. He also appreciated the troops for regularly practicing yoga, adding that once they choose to retire, they could mould themselves into excellent yoga teachers.

Later, he was seen exchanging sweets and greetings with the troops.
