Shiv Sena Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Raut said Thursday that the BSf jawan who was swept away towards Pakistan after falling into the River Chenab, should be sent back to India after his interrogation.
Raut said, "We should wait. Our jawan reached another country with the river. If any country wants to do interrogation, they can, it's their right. Be it Pakistan or any other country. But after the interrogation, he should be sent back to us."
The brother of BSF jawan, Sukhendra Yadav, told ANI, "We got a call from the headquarters that due to an incident your brother has reached the other side of the border. They said there were total of five jawans there, out of which four jumped and he was standing."
"The Pakistani rangers have kept him. The officials have told us that any kind of proceeding will happen only after the flag meeting takes place," he added.
According to sources from the BSF, around 11 a.m four BSF jawans were in the boat when it developed some technical snag near Chenab post. Due to technical snag engine of the boat had shut down. Three of them were lucky as they left the boat and swam to the river bank safely.
However, Satyasheel Yadav, who was also part of a team patrolling the River Chenab when the engine of the motorboat failed, was swept away by a strong current to the Pakistan side where he was picked up the Rangers.
Meanwhile. the BSF has reportedly sought a flag meeting or consultation with their counterparts, the Pakistan Rangers to hand over the Jawan to India.
