To commemorate India's 68th Republic Day, the tallest skyscraper Burj Khalifa, has been illuminated in the colours of the Indian national flag.

The skyscraper will be illuminated tomorrow evening as well.

"Tonight we celebrate India's 68th Republic Day with a spectacular LED illumination of the Indian National flag on #BurjKhalifa! #India," tweeted the official Twitter account of Burj Khalifa.

The official page also posted a message which read, "#BurjKhalifa wishes The #RepublicOfIndia a Happy National Day."

This will be a grand public display of the close relations between the two countries which will be visible to the huge population of various nationalities present in Dubai.

In addition, patriotic Indian songs will be played during the musical fountain show in the vicinity of the Burj. The musical fountain is a captivating water, music and light show which are a delight to both the residents and the tourists.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is the guest of honour for India's Republic Day on Thursday.
