A tour company - in its bid to boost visitors - is offering tourists free beer for every day it rains in the country.

Khiri Travel Myanmar has announced that every guest will get 2 chilled 600ml bottles of beer - or soft drink - if it rains for more than 10 minutes, News.com.au reported.

The company has offered these services until September 30; the offer is aimed to bust the belief that Burma is rainy during that period, which results in travellers turning away from that area.

Tourists can only score these services in Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake, but not in Yangoon or coastal beach resorts.
