A small bus-size asteroid on May 3 buzzed close to the Earth at a range that was closer than the moon.
According to NASA's Asteroid Watch project based at the agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, the asteroid 2014 HL129 made its closest approach to Earth at 08:13 GMT, Discovery News reported.
The25 feet wide asteroid, which was recently discovered on April 28, came about 299,338 km of Earth when it made its closest approach on Saturday morning in comparison the distance between the Earth and the moon is about 384,400 km.
Saturday's close shave by asteroid 2014 HL129 came just days after its discovery on Wednesday, April 28, by astronomers with the Mt. Lemmon Survey team.
