Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu on Saturday assured that farmers in the state will be provided compensation by the government at the earliest.
"On the behalf of Haryana government, I assure the farmers in Haryana that we will provide compensations at the earliest," Captain Abhimanyu Singh told ANI here.
"Compensation from past years for affected farmers was kept in banks, we have ordered officials to release the funds," he added.
Farmers across the country suffered huge losses in April when unprecedented rains and hailstorm damaged standing rabi crops in several states.
The farming community has blamed both the central and the state governments for not stepping in a timely manner to help the distressed.
