At least nine people have reportedly been killed in a car bomb attack in Somalian capital Mogadishu.

According to an official, a huge explosion was heard in the Wadajir district of the capital.

The Al-Shabab militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The blast took place in an area where Somali officials and their staff stay.

Mogadishu security forces and African Union multinational forces have forced Al-Shabab out of major parts in Somalia but it continues to carry out deadly bombings and attacks in Mogadishu.
