The West Indies tour has turned out to be great platform for providing confidence to the young Australian fast bowlers, pacer Mitchell Johnson has said.
After winning the World Cup, Australia comfortably won the first test of the Frank Worrell Trophy by nine-wickets against West Indies at Jamaica.
Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Johnson took less than three days to blow away the West Indies on a supposedly spin-friendly track.
Johnson said that they were feeling 100 percent and there was no doubt that wicket-taking ability was inspiring the rest of the team, Stuff.co.nz reported.
He also added that the team has changed over the last few years with bowlers coming in and out and he guessed the confidence had come from just being out there and playing a lot of cricket.
But Johnson insisted that they were not thinking about the Ashes yet with the second test against the West Indies around the corner.
