World's top watchmaker "Casio", has completed the building of new facility this spring, which will help in the production of G-Shock watches.
Yamagata Casio is the only domestic production base of Casio group's manufacturing for producing mainly "G-shock" watch, projectors and medical machines. It is aiming to improve the quality of 'Made in Japan' by pursuing high-reliability manufacturing that represents the watch.
Casio products are made by integrated manufacturing that combines advanced digital engineering and craftsmanship, from mould designing, manufacturing, and processing of products with decorative parts.
The role of the production base is to perform optimal QCD (quality, cost, and delivery time) through the stable launch of new products with cost reforms.
President of Yamagata Casio, Takumi Fukushi said, "As the sole production base in Japan, Yamagata Casio is aiming at the pursuit of high-quality production, especially "Made in Japan" absolute quality. There are three bases in China and one base in Thailand. Yamagata Casio" will jointly conduct with those other production bases development of manufacturing, development of automation and cost development."
For making the product, there are 13 stages and 11 processes, he added.
"In this automated line, we produce a popular affordable digital model. There are 13 stages in total and 11 processes for making the product. With this automation, we reduce the number of workers on the line to up to one third. We have been producing it in Japan, and now we will continue to do so by automation," Fukushi said.
This is "Premium Production Line" for the product on a high-end model with a thoroughly clean environment that is higher than a conventional level. Products will be built up by integrating automation with high skills of workers.
This is a well-known digital watch with an affordable price range. It is produced in an automatic production line while maintaining a high quality of the product.
