Cate Blanchett has transformed herself into a lesbian in a spectacular return to Australian television for an upcoming episode of ABC drama series, Rake.

In her first TV role in 15 years, Blanchett plays the lesbian version of mate Richard Roxburgh's rogue lawyer, Cleaver Greene who watches on in horror as his disastrous life becomes the inspiration for a big screen biopic, News.com.au reported.

Roxburgh, who also acts as the comedy's co-executive producer, said they were very privileged and it was really great when the Oscar-winning actress decided to do that role for them.
