Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who is a romantic break with her husband Jean-Bernard in the Caribbean, has reportedly escaped a shark attack while the duo was snorkeling.
The 31-year-old singer is said to have screamed with shock as she and other swimmers spotted what is believed to have been a blacktip reef shark gliding towards them, the Mirror reported.
A source said that it was a very scary experience for them both as there are warnings up about sharks all year round in that part of the world, but nobody expects to actually see one.
The insider added that the beach was quickly evacuated and nobody was hurt, but the sharks in that region can be vicious.
The source noted that every year people are injured by sharks in the Caribbean, so nobody is complacent. Fernandez-Versini was shaken but she was OK.
