Satish Babu Sana, a businessman who levelled corruption charges against CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana, has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking protection from arrest.
The matter has been listed in the High Court for a hearing on Tuesday.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on October 21 had filed an FIR against its own Special Director Rakesh Asthana in connection with the controversial meat exporter Moin Qureshi case.
The case was registered following a complaint made by Hyderabad resident Satish Babu Sana, which was received on October 15.
The CBI had then registered a regular case against Asthana and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in CBI's Special Investigation Team (SIT) and others under different sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act amongst others.
The complainant Sana, in his letter to the Director of CBI, had alleged that following a notice from DSP Devender Kumar, he first appeared before him at his office and was questioned about his relationship with Moin Akhtar Qureshi.
On subsequent appearances, the complainant alleged that the DSP accused him of paying Rs 50 lakh to Qureshi for Vanpic case, which he denied.
Later on, during a visit to Dubai, complainant Satish Babu Sana claimed to have met Manoj Prasad, who informed him about having a very good connection in the CBI and assured him of helping in the case through his brother Somesh Prasad.
The complainant alleged that Somesh Prasad asked him to pay an amount of Rs 5 crore to get favour in the case from the CBI officer.
Complainant had further claimed that upon query about the CBI officer to which Somesh was speaking, he showed him a WhatsApp profile picture of his contract which was reportedly of CBI's Special Director Rakesh Asthana.
