After suffering defeat at the hands of England in their opening World T20 match, South Africa batsman Hashim Amla is confident that his side would surely bounce back in the upcoming matches of the prestigious tournament.
South Africa suffered a two-wicket defeat at the hands of Eoin Morgan's side despite brilliant contribution by Amla (58), Quinton de Kock (52), Faf du Plesis (unbeaten 54).
With the win, England made the second-best chase in the history of T20 cricket and also scored their highest ever total (230) in the format.
Reflecting on the Proteas' performance, the 32-year-old admitted that poor execution of basics was the major factor behind their loss, Sport24 reported.
The Faf du Plessis-led side will next face minnows Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
Admitting that his side could not take any team for granted, Amla said that Afghanistan had played well against Sri Lanka, adding that South Africa had to be at their absolute best against them.
The two teams have only met once with South Africa claiming 59-run victory over Afghanistan at World T20 in the Caribbean in 2010.
