Putting an end to weeks of speculations, Asian-centric romantic comedy 'Crazy Rich Asians' is all set to release in China on November 30 this year.
Reports of the film not releasing in China surfaced after the Chinese government tightened its control of the culture and media sectors, insisting that they uphold "core socialist values," reported Page Six.
However, film authorities announced on Monday that the rom-com is all set to hit theatres in China in November.
'Crazy Rich Asians' is the first major studio movie to feature an all-Asian cast with Asian-American leads since 'The Joy Luck Club' 25 years ago.
The Warner Bros. romantic comedy generated nearly USD 40 million in ticket sales during its first six days in theaters.
While the film is ruling box offices worldwide, a sequel of the film is already being developed based on 'China Rich Girlfriend,' the second novel in Kevin Kwan's best-selling 'Crazy Rich Asians' series.
