Congress leader Manish Tewari on Thursday lashed out at the NDA Government for its misplaced diplomacy with regard to the strategic South Asian country Nepal and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain the country's position in this regard.
"This Prime Minister has even handed over Nepal to the Chinese. Their obtuse insistence that Nepal should be a Hindu Rashtra instead of a secular state has ensured that today China has become the main supplier of fuel and oil to Nepal," Tewari told ANI.
"So therefore, a country which has a strategic presence in South Asia, you have handed it over to China in a platter. This is your diplomacy. So Mr. Prime Minister you need to stand up and answer what is happening in India's neighbourhood," he added.
Nepal has signed a deal with China to import petroleum products, as the Himalayan nation tries to boost supplies to deal with a deepening fuel crisis.
