Dubbing Hafiz Saeed, the head of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Jamaat-ud-Dawa ( JuD ) as an agent of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, the Congress Party on Friday demanded strict action against both.
"Hafiz Saeed is very much into terrorist activities. He conducts terrorism against India and he is an agent of the ISI. He gets full support of the ISI and they conduct terrorist activities in India and Afghanistan. There should be strict action against them," Congress leader Rajeev Shukla told ANI.
According to revelations made by the Afghan Government and quoted by the Voice of America, Saeed is now also in-charge of the ISIS operations inside Afghanistan, thus adding yet another terror title to his name.
The VOA quoting the Afghan Defence Ministry said this disclosure was made during a meeting between the Afghan and Pakistani military officials in Kabul on Tuesday.
The Afghan side confronted the Pakistanis with information that Saeed, currently the former leader of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT), is also managing the activities of the dreaded Islamic State in Afghanistan.
Saeed is wanted in India for plotting terrorist attacks on its soil, including the heinous 2008 Mumbai attack that killed 166 people.
