Congress party celebrated as it marked its 130th Foundation Day at the All India Congress Committee headquarters, in the backdrop of the party's disappointing electoral performance.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi was present at the event along with other senior leaders. Former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is also en route to join in the celebrations.
The ceremony began with the rendition of the 'Vande Mataram' and will end with the National Anthem.
Earlier this year, the party recorded one of its worst performances in the Lok Sabha elections after it won only 44 seats.
