Congress leader Meem Afzal on Friday condemned the Enforcement Directorate's move to reopen the investigation into the National Herald case involving party president Sonia Gandhi, vice-president Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders, saying the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to take revenge with Nehru's family.
"The BJP has targeted the Nehru's family and the persons associated with them. This is a vindictive measure by the government," Afzal said.
Afzal told ANI that, "Earlier, the same Enforcement Directorate closed the files and said that there is no need for further investigation, and now, they are saying something else. This is not acceptable."
The Bharatiya Janata Party, however, said the case was never closed in the first place.
