Michael Le Vell, who is best known for his role on the ITV soap 'Coronation Street', has been cleared of a string of child sex abuse charges, including rape.
The 48-year-old actor was found not guilty of 12 charges in total at the Manchester Crown Court, the BBC reported.
His unidentified accuser had alleged that she was abused from the age of six until she was 14.
While talking to the media persons outside the court, Le Vell thanked his family and ITV for their support.
Le Vell's pal and former co-star Nigel Pivaro, said that his friend has suffered two years of hell and, probably due to his high profile, far more than most.
Pivaro asserted that Le Vell can now pick up his career and life.
An ITV rep added that they were looking forward to meeting with Le Vell to discuss his return to the programme.
