A leading pathologist has recently revealed that Brittany Murphy might have still been alive, if her mother Sharon would have called the ambulance on time.

Doctor Richard Shepherd claimed that her mother should have called an ambulance when she fell ill, rather than waiting for her to collapse, the Daily Star reported.

Shepherd said if Murphy had been taken to the hospital 24 hours earlier and given intravenous drugs, there was a good chance she would have survived.

However, she was so sedated that it's quite possible neither her husband Simon Monjack nor her mother had any idea how ill she actually was and that might be the reason why they didn't call an ambulance.

It was also suggested that the 'Clueless' actress had become so afraid of photographers waiting outside her home that she had turned into a recluse and the attempts to isolate herself made her reluctant to see a doctor because of the fear that it would be exposed in gossip magazines.

An ambulance was finally called when the 32-year-old fell lifeless on December 20 back in 2009.At the time the coroner said her untimely passing was attributed to pneumonia and anaemia, tragically the same ailments claimed the life of Monjack just five months later.
