A popular TV show, claiming to raise awareness against crimes, served as an inspiration for an 8-year-old girl who allegedly hung herself while mimicking a scene at her friend's residence in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Taken aback by the act, the girl's friends hid her body in the room and ran away from the house.
After the body of the girl was found, one of her friends told the police, "She came to our house after being scolded at home. We watched a crime show on TV and decided to play police-police. She then hanged herself while playing."
According to reports, the girl went to her friend's house where six other were already present.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
