CSA to announce new Proteas Test captain on June 3

Cricket South Africa (CSA) will reportedly announce the name of the next Test captain of the team at a press conference on June 3 in Johannesburg.

The in-coming captain will take over from Graeme Smith, who announced his retirement from the game in March this year after more than a decade in charge.

According to Sport24, the favourites for the post include three stalwarts- AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla.

Meanwhile, the report mentioned that CSA national convener of selectors, Andrew Hudson, would also name the respective Test and ODI squads to play against Sri Lanka in July.

The tour will comprise of two Tests and three ODIs, with the first ODI taking place in Colombo on July 6, the report added.
