Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs Department arrested an Indian citizen with foreign currency worth Rs. 31.82 lakh at the Mumbai International Airport while he was leaving for Dubai last night.

The accused, Shaheed Mohammed, holding an Indian passport was taking the foreign currency out of the country illegally.

The AIU officials recovered 8350 Australian dollars, 30,000 euros, 3,500 pounds and 15,300 UAE Dirhams totally worth Rs. 31.82 lakhs.

He had concealed the currency in a laptop bag, a trolley bag and his jeans pockets.
